The Muppets Return to TV with Special Starring Sabrina Carpenter
BURBANK, CA – Get ready to sing along! The Muppet Show, the iconic variety series that delighted audiences from 1976 to 1981, is making a grand return to television. Disney+ and ABC have announced a special event premiering February 4th, bringing back Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and the whole Muppet gang for a new generation.
Joining the Muppets onstage will be none other than Grammy-winning pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter. Fresh off her Short n’ Sweet tour, Carpenter will lend her musical talents to the zany antics of the Muppets. Fans may recall Carpenter’s previous playful encounter with Miss Piggy, where she jokingly “arrested” the diva pig onstage.
The special will also feature the return of veteran Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel. Goelz, an original performer from the series, will once again bring to life iconic characters such as Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.
