Thu Dec 18 19:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Son Charged in Hollywood Couple’s Stabbing Deaths After Erratic Behavior

LOS ANGELES, CA – Nick Reiner, son of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with their deaths. The couple was found dead in their Brentwood home on December 14th, victims of multiple stab wounds.

The preceding evening, Nick Reiner reportedly exhibited erratic behavior at a holiday party hosted by Conan O’Brien. Sources told NBC News that he interrupted a conversation between Bill Hader and other guests, staring intently after being told the conversation was private. Witnesses also reported a heated argument between Nick and his parents at the party. Jane Fonda, who saw the couple the night before their deaths, described them as “healthy and happy” in an Instagram post.

Following the discovery of the bodies, Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested near USC. District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed he faces a special allegation for using a knife in the murders, potentially leading to a sentence of life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

Prior to this tragic event, Nick Reiner had spoken openly about his struggles with addiction, even collaborating with his father on a film about substance abuse.

Attorney Alan Jackson, known for representing high-profile figures, has been retained to represent Nick Reiner. Nick Reiner has appeared in court but did not enter a plea and is scheduled for arraignment on January 7. He’s being held without bail.
