Hyderabad Disaster Response Agency Reclaims 20 Acres of Government Land
Hyderabad, December 19, 2025 – The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) announced today the successful reclamation of 20 acres of government land in two separate operations across the Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.
In the first operation, HYDRAA secured approximately seven acres of government land, including a water body, in the Mohammed Nagar-Lalita Bagh area of Kandikal village. The land, originally 9.11 acres, has been subject to legal disputes and encroachment, with two acres already occupied by residential structures. HYDRAA confirmed that attempts were underway to encroach upon the remaining seven acres by filling the water body. The agency stated that the illegal occupant had been fined ₹1 crore for filing a false case but continues to claim ownership of the land.
In a separate operation in Nizampet, acting on a request from Revenue department officials, HYDRAA reclaimed another piece of land. After a field inspection directed by HYDRAA chief A.V. Ranganath, the agency found that four acres had been occupied by permanent residential structures. Respecting existing residences, HYDRAA focused on removing temporary structures from the remaining 13 acres, subsequently erecting fencing and sign boards to secure the land.
