Orlando, FL – Get ready for a dose of holiday cheer and hardwood action! The NBA is returning to Walt Disney World, virtually, with the second annual “Dunk the Halls” animated game airing Christmas Day. ESPN, Disney, and the NBA are joining forces to bring fans a special alternative broadcast featuring the New York Knicks hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers in a fully animated experience.
This year’s presentation will feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale cheering courtside. Adding to the holiday fun, Stitch is set to make his “Dunk the Halls” debut, appearing on Main Street, USA, within Magic Kingdom Park.
The storyline revolves around Mickey Mouse’s Christmas wish to Santa Claus to bring the NBA back to the Magic Kingdom. However, Stitch’s arrival throws a wrench into the festive hoops celebration.
Fans can catch the animated action on Christmas Day at noon ET across multiple platforms, including ESPN2, Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney XD, the ESPN App, and the NBA streaming hub.
The broadcast will feature motion-tracked animated versions of the real NBA players as they compete live at Madison Square Garden. Viewers will witness every play in real-time, transformed into a captivating animated spectacle.
