Nellore, India – December 19, 2025: Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) in Nellore is investing in the future of its students with the inauguration of a new Drone Technology Laboratory and the continuation of a comprehensive creative writing program. Both initiatives aim to bolster student skills and employability.
On Thursday, coinciding with the fourth day of a “Drone Technology” workshop, Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao formally opened the new Drone Technology Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science. The lab, funded by the PM-USHA (Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) scheme, boasts drone components valued at approximately ₹2.5 lakh, enabling students to assemble six complete drone sets. Professor Ande Prasad will serve as the lab coordinator. During the workshop, students received specialized training on drone calibration, an essential element for stable flight and accurate sensor performance.
Simultaneously, VSU’s Department of English continued its “12-day Creative Writing and Professional Content Development” program. Students received instruction on character development and dialogue writing. Tamanna S.K., assistant professor of English at D.K. Government Women’s College, led the session, emphasizing the importance of character background, motivation, and narrative journey. Students actively participated in creating fictional characters and crafting dialogues for various scenarios.
These parallel initiatives demonstrate VSU’s commitment to providing students with cutting-edge technical skills and fostering creative expression, ultimately enhancing their prospects in a competitive job market.
