
Thu Dec 18 14:10:00 UTC 2025: Rajasthan Royals Rebuild for IPL 2026, Acquire Bishnoi and Jadeja in Strategic Moves
Jaipur, India – The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have made significant changes to their squad in preparation for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. With a remaining purse of ₹16.05 crore, the Royals strategically targeted Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi, acquiring him for ₹7.2 crore, significantly above his base price of ₹2 crore.
In a major pre-auction trade, RR released nine players, including captain and wicket-keeper Sanju Samson, to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In return, the team acquired veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from CSK. The Royals are yet to announce their captain for the upcoming season, after Riyan Parag led the team in the previous edition.
Alongside Parag, the Royals have retained a core group of players including young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, dynamic opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel, and international stars Jofra Archer and Shimron Hetmyer. In total, the franchise has retained 16 players from the previous season.
