New Delhi – December 17, 2025 (The Hindu E-Paper) – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party in response to their protest against the Centre’s proposed rural employment bill, VB-G RAM G, which aims to replace the existing MGNREGA.
Speaking at a press conference today, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused the Congress of prioritizing the interests of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Robert Vadra over the progress of the nation. He asserted that the opposition’s protests are merely an attempt to obstruct Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
“The Congress hates everything positive,” Bhatia stated, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to the empowerment of all 1.4 billion Indian citizens. He claimed that the VB-G RAM G Bill, currently under consideration in Parliament, seeks to enhance transparency and increase the number of working days available under rural employment programs.
Bhatia further alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s opposition stems from a lack of understanding and insinuated undue influence from external figures like George Soros and Ottavio Quattrocchi. He referenced the Bofors scandal during Rajiv Gandhi’s premiership to further discredit the Congress party’s motives.
The BJP spokesperson reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s resolve to achieve “Viksit Bharat” (developed India) and dismissed the Congress’s protest as a politically motivated attempt to hinder the nation’s progress. The VB-G RAM G bill is being presented as a crucial step towards realizing this goal by strengthening rural employment opportunities.
