MACHILIPATNAM, December 17, 2025 – Gannavaram police in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, have arrested a Pune resident for possession of a large quantity of illegal narcotics. Deepak Thupe was apprehended during a routine vehicle check at B.B. Gudem on Wednesday, December 17th, and found to be carrying 112 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth ₹5.6 lakh.

According to Krishna Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu, Thupe was allegedly smuggling the ganja from Balangir in Odisha State. An investigation into the source and intended destination of the drugs is currently underway. The suspect remains in custody.
