Chennai, December 16, 2025 – Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR and CE) and Chairman of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), P.K. Sekarbabu, inaugurated the construction of a new multi-purpose center in ward 78 of Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar zone on Monday. The ₹49.7 lakh project, funded through the Ward Member’s Ward Development Fund, will provide a 750 square foot facility for community use.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister Sekarbabu, accompanied by Chennai Mayor R. Priya, conducted an inspection of the ongoing renovation of Victoria Hall. Officials reported that the Greater Chennai Corporation has completed its portion of the work, with only final touches like interior design and artifact placement remaining. The renovated hall promises to be a significant cultural and historical landmark for the city.
