Bears’ Secondary Gets a Boost as Stevenson Returns, Browns’ O-Line Decimated

Chicago, IL – The Chicago Bears will welcome back cornerback Tyrique Stevenson to the lineup this Sunday as they host the Cleveland Browns at Soldier Field. Stevenson, who missed the previous two games with a hip injury, was a full participant in Friday’s practice and carries no injury designation.

“It feels great [to be back],” Stevenson stated, eager to rejoin his teammates.

Fellow cornerback Jaylon Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowler, will also be in action, continuing his return from a groin injury that sidelined him for a significant portion of the season. Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen noted Johnson is “getting closer and closer [to full strength] each and every week.”

However, the Bears’ secondary isn’t completely healthy. Nickel back Kyler Gordon has been ruled out with a groin injury, joining running back Travis Homer (ankle) on the inactive list. Receiver Rome Odunze is listed as questionable with a foot injury.

The Browns, on the other hand, are facing a crisis on their offensive line. Center Ethan Pocic is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. Pro Bowl right guard Wyatt Teller (calf) and right tackle Jack Conklin (concussion) have also been ruled out. The availability of left guard Joel Bitonio (knee/back) remains uncertain. In addition, tight end David Njoku (knee) and cornerback Denzel Ward (calf) will also sit out Sunday’s game for Cleveland.

In positive news for the Bears, linebackers T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell are cleared to play, bolstering the defense.

The Bears are hoping the return of key defensive players will help them capitalize on the Browns’ injury woes and secure a victory at home.
