The state successfully registered 92,832 Waqf properties on the central government’s ‘Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development (UMEED)’ portal, meeting the initial deadline of December 5, 2025, set by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs.

The registered properties include 86,347 Sunni and 6,485 Shia Waqf properties. Officials highlighted that Uttar Pradesh’s achievement represents the highest share of registered Waqf properties nationwide on the UMEED portal.

Government officials attributed the success to dedicated awareness campaigns and administrative support, facilitating timely compliance by Mutawallis (managers of Waqf properties) across various districts. Lucknow leads in the registration of Shia Waqf properties, while Barabanki tops the list for Sunni Waqf properties.
