LOS ANGELES, CA – Demigod fans rejoice! Percy Jackson and his friends are back for another adventure. Season 2 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” adapting Rick Riordan’s best-selling second book, “The Sea of Monsters,” premiered on Disney+ on December 10th.
Nearly two years after the series debuted to strong ratings, Walker Scobell returns as Percy Jackson, embarking on a perilous journey this time. Riordan, who also serves as an executive producer, spoke about the challenges of filming a TV series on this scale, particularly with the young cast experiencing significant growth. This led to the swift commencement of season 3 production.
Season 2 follows the format of its predecessor, consisting of eight episodes. The first two episodes dropped on December 10th, with new episodes releasing weekly until the season finale on January 21st. As Riordan stated in 2022, the plan is for each season to adapt one book from the original five-book series, ensuring that the story is faithfully brought to life.
