Sun Dec 14 15:30:00 UTC 2025: India Dominates South Africa in 3rd T20I, Chasing 118 for Victory

Dharamshala, India – India has taken firm control of the third T20I against South Africa at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Winning the toss and electing to bowl, India restricted South Africa to a paltry 117 all out in their 20 overs.

South Africa’s innings struggled to gain momentum, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Reeza Hendricks was dismissed for a duck, and Quinton de Kock only managed a single run. Dewald Brevis also failed to make an impact, departing for just 2 runs. Aiden Markram was the lone bright spot for the Proteas, scoring a fighting 61 off 41 balls, including a half-century. Donovan Ferreira contributed 20 runs, but overall, the South African batting lineup crumbled under the pressure applied by the Indian bowlers.

India’s bowling attack was clinical, with Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana each claiming two wickets. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube chipped in with one wicket apiece.

India made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Kuldeep Yadav and Harshit Rana in place of Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah. South Africa made three changes to their lineup with Bosch, Nortje and Stubbs replacing Miller, Linde and Sipamla.

Indian Innings Off to a Flying Start

Chasing a modest target of 118, India’s openers, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, provided a blistering start. At the time of writing, India were 49/0 after 4 overs.

The match is being broadcast live on Star Sports Network and streamed on Jio Hotstar. With a dominant performance in the field and a strong start with the bat, India looks well-positioned to secure a victory and potentially take a lead in the five-match T20 series.
