Bengaluru, India – Police in Bengaluru have launched an investigation into a late-night disturbance at Bastian, a pub co-owned by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, following the circulation of CCTV footage on social media. The incident occurred around 1:30 AM on December 11th at the pub located on St Mark’s Road.
The footage shows a heated argument involving a group of patrons, though no physical violence is immediately apparent. Among those identified in the video is businessman Satya Naidu, a former Bigg Boss contestant. Preliminary reports suggest that a dispute over the bill may have triggered the altercation. Pub staff intervened to de-escalate the situation.
Satya Naidu has denied any wrongdoing, stating that he was at Bastian for dinner with friends and that the dispute was related to payment of the bill. He insists that no physical altercation took place.
Police have taken suo motu cognisance of the incident and have summoned individuals involved for questioning. The Central Division DCP confirmed that officers are analyzing the CCTV footage and collecting statements. Police will register a case if the investigation reveals evidence of a serious offence. Shilpa Shetty partnered with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, founder of the Bastian brand, in 2019.
