Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda 2: Tandavam’ Nears ₹50 Crore Mark After Strong Opening

Hyderabad – Nandamuri Balakrishna’s highly anticipated film, ‘Akhanda 2: Tandavam,’ is making waves at the box office, despite a slight dip in collections on its second day. The film, a sequel to the blockbuster ‘Akhanda,’ has garnered significant attention from fans and industry insiders alike.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Akhanda 2’ earned an estimated ₹15.50 crore net in India on its second day (Saturday). This follows a strong opening day performance of ₹22.5 crore net. While the second-day collections represent a drop of approximately ₹7 crore (roughly a 31.1% decrease), the film has still managed to amass a total of ₹46 crore net in India within just two days of its release, including ₹8 crore from premieres.

Analysts predict that ‘Akhanda 2: Tandavam,’ a fantasy devotional action thriller, is on track to swiftly enter the coveted ₹50 crore club.

The Telugu version of the film dominated the opening day collections, contributing ₹21.95 crore. The Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam dubbed versions brought in ₹1 lakh, ₹2 lakh, ₹43 lakh and ₹1 lakh respectively.

‘Akhanda 2’ faces competition in the Hindi market from Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ and is also playing in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Occupancy rates for the Telugu original version remained strong on Saturday, peaking at 68.48% during night shows.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu, ‘Akhanda 2: Tandavam’ stars Nandamuri Balakrishna alongside Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshali Malhotra, best known for her role as Munni in Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan,’ who makes her debut as an actress after her role as a child actress.
