Netflix’s “The Crown” to Explore Kennedy Dynasty’s Entanglement with British Aristocracy

London, UK – Netflix’s acclaimed historical drama, “The Crown,” is set to delve into the fascinating and often turbulent relationship between the Kennedy dynasty and the British aristocracy in an upcoming season. Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender will portray family patriarch Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., guiding viewers through the family’s rise to prominence in American politics, starting in the 1930s.

A significant portion of the narrative will focus on the Kennedys’ deep ties to British high society, starting with Joseph P. Kennedy’s appointment as the US Ambassador to the UK in 1938. The family, including his socialite wife Rose and their nine children, quickly became fixtures in London’s elite circles, attending lavish balls, dinners, and regattas alongside prominent figures like the Astors.

The story will highlight Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy’s immense popularity in London, where she was named ‘debutante of 1938′ at Queen Charlotte’s Ball. Her marriage to William Cavendish, Marquess of Hartington, heir to the Duke of Devonshire, cemented the family’s connection to the British aristocracy, although tragedy struck when he was killed in action shortly after their wedding.

The series will also touch upon the strained relationship between President John F. Kennedy and Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the close friendship between Jackie Kennedy and Lord Harlech following JFK’s assassination.

Fans of “The Crown” can anticipate a star-studded cast and a gripping portrayal of the Kennedys’ dramatic and often ill-fated saga, with Britain playing a central role in their lives.
