Dhurandhar: Spy Thriller Makes a Splash in Theaters, Set to Hit Netflix Soon

MUMBAI, INDIA – December 10, 2025 – Aditya Dhar’s highly anticipated spy thriller, Dhurandhar, has landed in theaters and is already making waves. Starring a powerhouse cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, the film was released on December 5, 2025, and had a strong opening weekend despite its lengthy 214-minute runtime.

Dhurandhar chronicles the fictionalized account of “Mission Dhurandhar,” India’s first major espionage operation following the 2001 Parliament Attack. The film follows RAW agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), who goes undercover as Hamza Ali Mazar to infiltrate Rehman Dakait’s (Akshaye Khanna) criminal Lyari gang in Karachi, Pakistan. He faces challenges from ISI agent Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) and disgraced SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt).

The film enjoyed a decent opening day, grossing ₹28.60 crore and exceeding initial projections. Positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth propelled the film to a ₹160.15 crore worldwide gross during its opening weekend.

For those who prefer to watch from home, Dhurandhar will be available on Netflix, which is the movie’s official streaming partner. While an exact date hasn’t been confirmed, industry analysts predict the film will arrive on the streaming service between January 16 and January 30, 2026, aligning with the typical six-to-eight-week window between theatrical release and streaming availability.

Adding to the excitement, Dhurandhar 2 was announced at the end of the film, with a release date scheduled for March 19, 2026. The sequel will delve deeper into Hamza’s operations in Pakistan, his pursuit of Iqbal, and Jaskirat’s backstory, revealing how he was chosen for Mission Dhurandhar.
