Chiefs’ Karlaftis Ready to Rumble Against Texans Despite Thumb Injury

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City Chiefs fans can breathe a sigh of relief! Veteran pass-rusher George Karlaftis, who appeared on the team’s injury report this week with a thumb issue, is expected to play tonight against the Houston Texans on ‘Sunday Night Football.’

Despite the injury, Karlaftis participated fully in all of the Chiefs’ practice sessions this week. The team declined to give Karlaftis an official game status designation for Week 14, signaling confidence in his availability. He is expected to suit up and play his usual role on the defensive line.

While Karlaftis is expected to play, the Chiefs are prepared with capable backups. Should his thumb become an issue during the game, Charles Omenihu and Ashton Gillotte are primed to step up and provide crucial pass-rushing support.
