TVK Seeks New Venue for Public Meeting in Erode
Erode, Tamil Nadu – December 8, 2025: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has requested permission to hold a public meeting at a new venue near Vijayamangalam toll gate, Erode, after their initial location was deemed unsuitable.
On Sunday, December 7th, TVK representatives submitted a request to District Collector S. Kandasamy and Superintendent of Police A. Sujatha to host a meeting led by party president Vijay. However, police inspection determined the original site at Pavalathampalayam was too small for the expected turnout and parking needs.
P. Sasikumar, Joint Secretary of the TVK Perundurai South Union, submitted a new petition today to the Collector and SP. This petition requests permission to hold the meeting on December 16th, from noon to 6 p.m., at a 16-acre temple site in Moongilpalayam village, Perundurai block, with an additional 10 acres for parking. The petition also indicates that Vijay will address the gathering from a vehicle and requests security arrangements. Expected attendance is estimated at 10,000 party members and 20,000 members of the public, with restrictions on pregnant women, children, and the elderly.
Superintendent of Police A. Sujatha confirmed the initial petition was withdrawn, and the police are currently reviewing the new application.
