Huskers Favored to Win In-State Rivalry

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Cornhuskers are poised to enter their highly anticipated annual matchup against the Creighton Bluejays as a slight favorite, according to online oddsmakers. The Huskers are currently favored by 5.5 points, a spread that increased overnight from an initial 4.5 points.

Nebraska is coming off an impressive 8-0 start to the season, their best since 1977-78. Their most recent victory was against USC Upstate on Nov. 29, a game that saw four Huskers scoring in double figures, led by Pryce Sandfort with 20 points.

Sandfort has been a standout player for Nebraska this season, averaging 16.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He has also made 23 three-pointers and shooting nearly 37 percent from beyond the arc. With a win against Creighton, the Huskers would extend the nation’s longest winning streak to 13 games.

Creighton, on the other hand, enters Sunday’s contest with a 5-3 record, having won their last two games against Nicholls and Oregon. Last season, the Huskers defeated the Bluejays 74-63 in Omaha.

The Huskers are seeking their first home win against Creighton since 2018. The game will be broadcast on FS1 at 4 p.m. CT.
