“Blue Bloods” Star Andrew Terraciano Recast for Spin-Off, Receives Support from Donnie Wahlberg

Hollywood, CA – Andrew Terraciano, known for his role as Sean Reagan on the hit CBS show “Blue Bloods,” has been recast for the upcoming spin-off series, “Boston Blue.” Terraciano played the youngest son of Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) for the show’s entire 14-season run.

Terraciano revealed that he learned of the recasting on his graduation day. “I had somebody call me – actually the day that I was graduating – and they had spoken to my mom and she called me [crying],” Terraciano told Us Weekly. “They were like, ‘They might be looking for a different Sean.'”

The role of Sean Reagan will now be played by Mika Amonsen. According to sources, the decision was made due to a new creative direction for the character, who will be pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Terraciano received a personal call from Donnie Wahlberg following the announcement. He described it as “a really beautiful moment” to hear from an old friend and mentor.

Despite the recasting, Terraciano remains positive, stating, “It’s beautiful because you’ll always remember every single line and every day that you had the opportunity to be that character. It doesn’t mean for even a second that somebody else can’t go and do something beautiful with it.”

Currently focused on his studies, Terraciano hasn’t yet seen “Boston Blue” but plans to watch it when he can dedicate the time and respect it deserves. He also expressed his willingness to work with Wahlberg again in the future, stating, “if Wahlberg says the word, I’ll be there. Not just with Blue Bloods or Boston Blue but with anything in life.” The outpouring of support from fans has been “so meaningful” to the actor.

“Boston Blue” airs Fridays at 10/9c.
