Sun Dec 07 03:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Oilers to Face Jets with Tomasek In, Skinner in Net
EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers are set to host the Winnipeg Jets tonight at Rogers Place, with some changes to the lineup. Forward David Tomasek will draw back into the lineup, replacing Connor Clattenburg on the fourth line. In net, Stuart Skinner will get the start.
Clattenburg sustained a high-sticking injury during Thursday’s dominant 9-4 victory over the Seattle Kraken, forcing him to leave the game. While Head Coach Kris Knoblauch expects the rookie to recover quickly, he will sit out tonight’s contest.
Tomasek, who has been sidelined since November 25th, will look to contribute offensively. He has two goals and two assists in 18 games this season.
Following a recent 1-0 loss to Minnesota, the Oilers are aiming for a more consistent performance. Coach Knoblauch emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong defensive foundation, noting that while the offensive outburst against Seattle was encouraging, the team cannot rely on scoring a large number of goals to win every game.
“Three should be enough to score to win a hockey game,” Knoblauch stated, highlighting the need for a balanced approach.
Forward Zach Hyman, who has been on a tear since returning from wrist surgery, will remain on the top line with Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. “I feel like I have my legs under me. I feel like the timing’s back,” said Hyman, who scored a highlight-reel goal against the Kraken.
