Sun Dec 07 02:00:00 UTC 2025: Headline: Harrison’s Manager Calls Out Nunes, Hints at Rousey Showdown

Las Vegas, NV – Kayla Harrison’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, is publicly pushing for a mega-fight between his client, the reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion, and former two-division queen Amanda Nunes. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Abdelaziz made a direct plea to Nunes to sign the contract, emphasizing the fight’s significance for both legacies and the desires of the fans.

“Amanda Nunes, please sign the contract!” Abdelaziz exclaimed. “Let’s make this happen… The fans want it. Kayla wants it. It’s good for your legacy.”

The potential clash has been brewing since Harrison’s title victory over Julianna Peña at UFC 316 in June, after which Nunes entered the Octagon for a face-off. Nunes, 37, retired after defeating Irene Aldana at UFC 289 in June 2023 but has since announced a return to face the winner of Harrison vs. Peña, making the matchup a high probability.

But Abdelaziz isn’t stopping there. He’s also eyeing a potential showdown with Ronda Rousey, the biggest star in women’s MMA history. “Kayla beats [Nunes]… and after that, Kayla will have two options,” Abdelaziz stated, suggesting that Rousey could be lured “out of the grave” for a grudge match stemming from past “beef.”

If Rousey proves unwilling to return to the Octagon, Abdelaziz floated the possibility of a superfight between Harrison and current UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko.

Harrison, 35, a decorated judoka with two Olympic gold medals, transitioned to MMA in 2018 and quickly rose through the ranks. Nunes, considered by many as the greatest female MMA fighter of all time, retired with a record of 23-5, including victories over both Shevchenko and Rousey.

Rousey, 37, dominated the early years of women’s MMA, becoming the inaugural UFC women’s bantamweight champion before suffering back-to-back knockout losses to Holly Holm and Nunes. She subsequently transitioned to professional wrestling in WWE and has since started a family. While Rousey has recently posted MMA-related training videos on social media, she has not publicly announced any plans for a UFC return.

A Harrison vs. Rousey fight would be a marketing dream, pitting two Olympic judo medalists against each other. However, whether Rousey is willing to step back into the cage remains to be seen. For now, all eyes are on whether Nunes will answer Abdelaziz’s call and finalize a highly anticipated showdown with Harrison.
