Mumbai, India – December 5, 2025 – Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. announced today the operation of special weekly trains from Mumbai to Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram to accommodate the increased passenger traffic expected during the winter holiday season.
Mumbai to Mangaluru Special: Train No. 01185 will depart Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai at 4:00 PM every Tuesday on December 16, 23, 30, and January 6, arriving at Mangaluru Junction at 10:05 AM the following day. The return journey, Train No. 01186, will depart Mangaluru Junction at 1:00 PM every Wednesday on December 17, 24, 31, and January 7, arriving at LTT at 6:50 AM the next day. This train will make stops at Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon Jn., Karwar, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, and Surathkal stations. The train will consist of 22 LHB coaches, including first class AC, 2-tier AC, 3-tier AC, pantry car and generator cars.
Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram Special: Train No. 01171 will depart LTT at 4:00 PM every Thursday on December 18, 25, January 1, and January 8, reaching Thiruvananthapuram North at 11:30 PM the next day. The return journey, Train No. 01172, will depart Thiruvananthapuram North at 4:20 PM every Saturday on December 20, 27, January 3, and 10, arriving at LTT at 1:00 AM on the third day. In Karnataka, this train will halt at Karwar, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Surathkal, and Mangaluru Jn. stations. This train consists of 2-tier AC, 3-tier AC, sleeper, general class, luggage-cum-brake van and generator car coaches, for a total of 22 LHB coaches.
The special train services aim to ease travel during the peak holiday period, providing convenient and comfortable options for passengers. Tickets are available for booking through the Indian Railways official website and authorized ticketing platforms.
