Fri Dec 05 09:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Controversial Horror Game ‘Horses’ Briefly Delisted from Humble After Steam, Epic Bans

Update 12/3/2025 1:14pm PT: After a rollercoaster of events, disturbing horror game “Horses” is back on Humble after being briefly delisted. The game’s availability follows bans from both Steam and the Epic Games Store, leaving developer Santa Ragione reeling. Humble, owned by IGN Entertainment (a subsidiary of Ziff Davis, Inc.), declined to comment on the delisting and subsequent relisting.

Earlier today, Santa Ragione confirmed “Horses” had been removed from Humble’s storefront, adding to the mounting difficulties the studio is facing.

The game, which depicts unsettling scenes involving human-like horses, has faced consistent pushback from major platforms. Last week, Steam banned “Horses,” citing its Steam Onboarding Documentation and concerns over content depicting “sexual conduct involving a minor.” While Santa Ragione altered a scene featuring a child, they claim they were not given a chance to resubmit the updated version.

Just before its scheduled release, Epic Games Store followed suit, citing violations of their content guidelines. Santa Ragione shared an email from Epic stating their decision, which read, “We set clear guidelines for the content that can be distributed on the Epic Games Store and found violations of those guidelines during our extensive review.” An appeal was denied without further explanation.

Epic Games’ communications director, Jake Jones, reiterated this stance, stating, “We set clear guidelines for the content that can be distributed on the Epic Games Store and found violations of those guidelines during our extensive review.”

“Horses” centers on a young man working at a remote horse farm where the horses are, in fact, enslaved humans with horse masks. Santa Ragione describes the game as a commentary on moral complacency. Despite receiving a 7/10 review from IGN, the game’s unsettling premise has proven too controversial for the major platforms.

Valve, in a statement, claimed to have provided feedback to Santa Ragione regarding their decision, stating their internal content review team “discussed a re-review extensively but decided against it.”

Despite the setbacks, “Horses” is currently available on Humble, itch.io, and GOG, with the latter having publicly expressed support for the game. The developer, Santa Ragione, fears that without access to Steam’s larger audience, they may be forced to shut down.
