Hyderabad, December 5, 2025 – A Deputy Tahsildar from Chandur mandal in Nalgonda district, identified as Chandra Shekar, has been apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on charges of bribery. The arrest, made on Thursday, follows allegations that Shekar demanded ₹20,000 to expedite the processing of land mutation papers.

According to the ACB, Shekar sought the bribe from a complainant in exchange for releasing previously issued mutation proceedings and related documents pertaining to land owned by the complainant’s deceased father. The tainted money was recovered from the dashboard of the accused officer’s vehicle.

Shekar was subsequently arrested and presented before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
