Kannur, Kerala – December 2, 2025 – Jilson, a 44-year-old undertrial prisoner accused of murdering his wife, reportedly died by suicide in Kannur Central Jail early Tuesday morning. According to jail superintendent K. Venu, Jilson, who had been transferred from Wayanad seven months ago, allegedly used a sharp object to slice his neck.
“He had attempted suicide before,” said Superintendent Venu. “We provided counseling and he assured us he would not try again. He was even a talented painter and we were planning to exhibit his work. This act is a shock.”
