Tue Dec 02 09:30:00 UTC 2025: Headline: EPFO Explains Missing Passbook Entries, Promises Quick Resolution
New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has addressed recent concerns regarding missing passbook entries for September and October 2025. Subscribers have reported that their EPF passbook portal is not showing contributions for these months.
In a statement released on its website, the EPFO clarified that the issue is due to an ongoing upgrade to the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) ledger posting system. This upgrade, aimed at improving the system’s functionality, has caused a temporary delay in the reflection of contributions for the affected period.
“Contributions for September and October 2025 may not appear temporarily in the passbook because the system’s ledger is being upgraded,” the EPFO stated. The organization anticipates that the delayed entries will begin appearing within a few days.
The EPFO apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and assured subscribers that they are working diligently to restore all services as quickly as possible. The organization highlighted that these technical improvements are designed to enhance member-facing platforms, including those used for claim filing and account access.
In addition to the backend upgrade, the EPFO has launched several new features to improve member experience:
- Digital Life Certificate via Facial Authentication: Pensioners can now submit their Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) from the comfort of their homes using facial authentication technology.
- Simplified Profile Updates: Members and employers can now easily file profile update requests through a new functionality on the Unified Portal.
- Passbook Lite: A new feature called “Passbook Lite” provides a quick view of contributions, withdrawals, and balance without redirecting to the full passbook website. Subscribers can access it after logging in to the UAN Member e-Service Portal.
How to Access Passbook Lite:
- Go to the UAN Member e-Service Portal.
- Log in using your UAN, password, and OTP.
- Select Passbook Lite from the dashboard.
- View and download your latest contribution details.
The EPFO assured subscribers that once the ledger upgrade is complete, the September and October 2025 contributions will automatically appear in their passbooks.
