Chicago Bulls Mull Trade for Anthony Davis Amidst Playoff Push
CHICAGO, IL – The Chicago Bulls, currently sitting at 9-10 in the Eastern Conference after a promising 6-1 start, are reportedly considering a potential trade for Dallas Mavericks star center Anthony Davis. According to sources inside the Bulls’ facility, as reported by ESPN, the team is internally debating whether to pursue Davis as a solution to their defensive struggles and a veteran presence to complement their young core.
The December 15th deadline, when many trade restrictions lift, is fast approaching, forcing the Bulls to decide whether they’re buyers or sellers this season. While some within the organization see Davis as a potential game-changer, others are hesitant to make a significant move so early in the season.
Sources indicate that even if the Bulls were to make an offer, they are unwilling to dismantle their young core, which includes promising players such as Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis, and potentially Coby White. This stance presents a challenge, as it’s unclear whether a package centered around other players would be enticing enough for the Mavericks, especially given Davis’ hefty contract and injury history.
The Mavericks, who recently fired their general manager, are expected to listen to offers for Davis. Finding a suitable trade partner for the 32-year-old center has proven difficult.
While a trade appears unlikely at this point, Davis’ Chicago roots will undoubtedly keep the Bulls linked to him in trade rumors. If the Bulls can recapture their early-season form and contend for a playoff spot, the possibility of a Davis trade could become a more realistic scenario before the trade deadline.
