Karaikal, Puducherry – November 30, 2025 – Heavy rainfall from Cyclone Ditwah brought life to a standstill in Karaikal, Puducherry, on Saturday, leaving numerous communities submerged and grappling with the aftermath.
Low-lying areas experienced significant flooding, with water inundating homes and disrupting transportation. Residents reported water entering hundreds of houses, causing damage to household items.
Numerous villages across communes such as Nedungadu, T.R. Pattinam, Neravy, Thirunallar, and Kottucherry were severely affected by water stagnation. Authorities confirmed that primary and high schools in fisher settlements such as Karaikal Medu, Kilinjal Medu, Kasakudi Medu, Kottucherry Medu, Kalikuppam, and Pattinachery were impacted.
