Mon Dec 01 07:36:58 UTC 2025: Musk Reveals Child’s Indian Heritage, Honors Nobel Laureate Chandrasekhar

New York – December 1, 2025 – SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has revealed that one of his children with partner Shivon Zilis has the middle name “Sekhar” as a tribute to Nobel Prize-winning Indian-American astrophysicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. Musk made the announcement during an interview on Nikhil Kamath’s show, “People by WTF.”

Chandrasekhar, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1983, is celebrated for his groundbreaking theoretical studies of the structure and evolution of stars.

Musk described Zilis as “half-Indian,” adding that she was adopted as a baby and raised in Canada. He explained that her father was likely an exchange student at the university, although the precise details of her early life are unclear.

Musk and Zilis have four children together: twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia, and son Seldon Lycurgus, whose middle name honors the Nobel Laureate. Zilis currently serves as a director of operations and special projects at Musk’s company, Neuralink.

The revelation has sparked considerable interest, highlighting Musk’s personal connections to India and his admiration for Chandrasekhar’s contributions to science.
