Sun Nov 30 17:10:00 UTC 2025: Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer Opens Up About Scoops, Mental Health, and Brotherhood

NEW YORK, NY – Jay Glazer, the Fox Sports NFL insider known for his breaking news and mental health advocacy, recently sat down with the New York Post to discuss his career, personal struggles, and relationships in the world of football.

Glazer, who claims to have coined the term “scoopage” just to rile up his friends, recounted some of his most memorable scoops, including obtaining the Spygate video early in his Fox career and breaking the news of Aaron Rodgers being cut by the Jets during last year’s Super Bowl pregame show. He also recalled scoops involving Barret Robbins, BALCO players, Brett Favre joining the Vikings, and Jim Harbaugh leaving the 49ers.

He emphasized the pressure of being a breaking news reporter, highlighting the challenge of holding onto information until the right moment, and the frustration of stories leaking just before airtime.

Beyond breaking news, Glazer spoke candidly about his lifelong battle with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and OCD. He described how he has learned to “weaponize” his mental health challenges, turning them into motivation and a source of strength. Glazer credits his openness about his struggles with helping others and removing the stigma surrounding mental health.

Glazer also highlighted the importance of his friendship with Michael Strahan, whom he affectionately calls his “baby sister.” He revealed that Strahan’s support was crucial in his decision to open up about his mental health.

He offered insights into several NFL figures, praising Matthew Stafford’s performance, highlighting Drake Maye’s unexpected development, and expressing excitement about Shedeur Sanders. He also tipped a few assistant coaches he believed might be ready for head coaching jobs.

When asked about his legacy, Glazer hopes to be remembered for pioneering the role of the NFL insider and, more importantly, for being a voice that empowers others to overcome the stigma surrounding mental health.
