Kohli’s Century, Rohit & Rahul’s Fifties Propel India to Massive Total Against South Africa in 1st ODI
Ranchi, November 30, 2023 – Virat Kohli’s magnificent century, supported by half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, powered India to a formidable total of 350 against South Africa in the first ODI of the three-match series held at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi today.
South Africa won the toss and elected to field. India’s innings started cautiously, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal early. However, a strong partnership between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli steadied the ship. Kohli reached his fifty in just 39 balls and completed his century with 102 balls, smashing 11 fours and 7 sixes. Rohit Sharma reached his half century in 43 balls and broke Shahid Afridi’s record for most sixes in ODI. Rohit was out after a well made 57. Kohli was ultimately out after scoring 135, while Rahul added a valuable 60 before getting out.
