PUDUCHERRY – November 30, 2025 – Moderate rainfall, spurred by Cyclone Ditwah in the Bay of Bengal, impacted Puducherry and neighboring Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu over the weekend. Puducherry recorded 7.53 cm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, causing localized waterlogging in areas such as Papama Koil Road.

Authorities responded by relocating families from the Irular community residing in Karuvadikuppam and Moolakulam, settlements prone to flooding, to temporary shelters in a private school near the airport. Puducherry District Collector A. Kulothungan personally inspected the relief camp, confirming that the displaced families are being provided with food and other essential needs.
