Ayodhya Shivers as Temperature Dips, Farmers Urged to Sow Crops

Ayodhya: Ayodhya residents are feeling a chill as the minimum temperature dipped to 10.5 degrees Celsius, according to the Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology. Dr. Sitaram Mishra, a meteorologist at the university, attributed the increasing daytime cold to south-westerly winds.

Dr. Mishra explained that a shift in wind direction from westerly to easterly has caused a drop in daytime temperatures. Although cloud cover has slightly raised nighttime temperatures to 10.5 degrees Celsius from 9 degrees, the overall feeling of cold is expected to intensify over the next three days after which there will be further intensification in cold. Light fog is also possible in some areas in the mornings.

“Now westerly winds were blowing which was causing the day temperature to remain about 27.5 degree Celcius and night temperature around 9.5 degree celcius. The direction of the wind has now changed and easterly winds are blowing,” he said.

He emphasized that this period is ideal for sowing Rabi crops. Dr. Mishra urged farmers who haven’t already done so to complete the sowing of wheat and mustard crops as soon as possible, taking advantage of the favorable weather conditions.

Today’s maximum temperature was recorded at 27.5 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity ranging from 88% to 50%. The wind speed was 1.6 kilometers per hour, blowing from the southwest. No rainfall was recorded.

Looking ahead, the forecast for the next 24 hours for eastern Uttar Pradesh indicates partially cloudy skies with no expectation of rain. Winds are expected to blow from the west at a normal speed, and the average temperature is expected to be around normal. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the cold.
