Randy Travis Releases New Christmas Single, “Where My Heart Is,” After Stroke Recovery
NASHVILLE, TN – Country music legend Randy Travis, more than a decade after suffering a near-fatal stroke, is releasing new music this holiday season. His wife, Mary Travis, exclusively told Fox News Digital about the couple rediscovering unreleased recordings, culminating in the new single “Where My Heart Is.”
The song, recorded before Travis’s 2013 stroke, evokes themes of home, faith, and the importance of cherishing loved ones. Travis was hospitalized in 2013 for congestive heart failure tied to viral cardiomyopathy. A blood clot that formed in his heart caused the stroke, which left him with partial paralysis and affected his speech.
Mary Travis shared that revisiting these recordings has been a deeply emotional experience, highlighting her husband’s resilience and unwavering faith. “Christmas is something that’s, well, it’s a sweet time of the year for so many. And to have a new Christmas song… I get in the mood for Christmas by playing Randy Travis’ Christmas music.” She emphasized the joy of having new music to share with fans after such a challenging period.
Despite the challenges Travis has faced since his stroke, Mary emphasized his continued humility and appreciation for the talent he was given. She noted his acceptance of his current condition made him “more of a mountain of a man.”
“Where My Heart Is” is available now. Mary Travis hopes the song brings comfort and joy to listeners this holiday season, reminding them to appreciate the time spent with family and friends.
