No. 19 Iowa Women’s Basketball Faces Miami After Upset Win Over Baylor

Orlando, FL – November 21, 2025 – Fresh off a stunning 57-52 victory over No. 7 Baylor, the No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes (5-0) will face the Miami Hurricanes (4-0) Saturday at 7:00 p.m. CT at the State Farm Field House in Orlando, Florida. The game is part of the WBCA Showcase.

Iowa’s win against Baylor was fueled by a strong defensive performance, holding the Bears to just 6-of-32 shooting in the second half. A late 9-0 run sealed the victory for the Hawkeyes. Ava Heiden led Iowa with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Stremlow contributed 12 points off the bench.

Heiden has been a dominant force for Iowa this season, averaging a team-high 15.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.

Miami is coming off a 66-58 win over Davidson on Thursday. Gal Raviv, a sophomore guard, led the Hurricanes with 22 points, while Ra Shaya Kyle, a 6’6″ center, added 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Iowa leads the all-time series against Miami 4-0, with two NCAA Tournament wins in 2013 and 2015.

However, the Hawkeyes are facing uncertainty regarding the availability of Chit-Chat Wright, who was injured early in the third quarter of the Baylor game. An Iowa win over Miami could propel them into the top-15 of the Associated Press poll.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Hawkeye Radio Network.

Iowa’s next game is at home against Western Illinois on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
