No. 1 Nebraska Volleyball Hits the Road to Face Indiana

LINCOLN, Neb. – Fresh off a single home game, the top-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team (27-0) is back on the road, set to face the Indiana Hoosiers tonight in Bloomington, Indiana. The Huskers are looking to continue their undefeated season. Their 2023 season also opened with 27 straight wins.

Nebraska boasts a dominant offense, leading the nation with a .348 hitting percentage. Their defense is equally formidable, holding opponents to a mere .128 hitting percentage, ranking second nationally. Junior Harper Murray leads the Husker attack with 3.56 kills and 2.22 digs per set, along with a team-high 26 aces. Setter Bergen Reilly orchestrates the offense, averaging 10.32 assists and 2.68 digs per set. Middle blocker Andi Jackson is also a key contributor, averaging 2.72 kills per set on .461 hitting with 1.11 blocks per set.

The Indiana Hoosiers (21-5, 12-4 Big Ten) are led by setter Teodora Krickovic, who tops the Big Ten with 10.81 assists per set. Indiana is hitting .289 as a team, while holding opponents to .220. Nebraska holds a commanding 24-1 all-time record against the Hoosiers. The Huskers, after a slow start, are now hitting .280 while holding the Hoosiers to .040. Nebraska was trailing by as much as five in the first set, before closing the gap. Both teams have struggled on offense, with the Huskers hitting -0.143 and the Hoosiers hitting .167 early on.
