Sun Nov 23 15:45:33 UTC 2025: Manchester United Eye Top Four Spot in Clash with Everton
Manchester, UK – Manchester United will look to continue their recent resurgence and break into the Premier League’s top four when they host Everton at Old Trafford on Monday at 8pm (GMT). Under manager Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils are currently enjoying a five-game unbeaten streak, although recent draws against Nottingham Forest and Spurs have stalled their progress. A win against Everton could see them leapfrog into the coveted Champions League qualification places.
However, David Moyes’ Everton, only three points behind United, will be eager to spoil the party. Moyes, returning to his former club, will be extra motivated to secure a positive result. Everton are coming off a 2-0 victory over Fulham.
Amorim, marking his one-year anniversary as United boss with this fixture, acknowledges the importance of consistency. “We are showing [consistency], but the important thing is that it doesn’t matter what we did in the recent games,” he said.
United forward Matheus Cunha has credited Amorim’s impact with boosting his chances of a Brazil World Cup squad place.
However, United face injury concerns. Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire are ruled out. The status of Matheus Cunha is uncertain. Kobbie Mainoo could be available.
Everton will be without Merlin Rohl, Nathan Patterson, and Jarrad Branthwaite.
