Sun Nov 23 15:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Packers’ Star RB Josh Jacobs’ Status Uncertain for Crucial Vikings Matchup
GREEN BAY, WI – The Green Bay Packers’ hopes for a crucial NFC North victory against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday hang in the balance as the status of star running back Josh Jacobs remains uncertain. Jacobs is officially listed as questionable after suffering a knee injury last weekend against the New York Giants.
According to reports from ESPN and NFL Media, Jacobs is experiencing tenderness in his knee, but structural damage has been ruled out. He is expected to participate in pre-game warmups, after which a final decision will be made about his availability.
Jacobs was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, having sat out Wednesday’s session. His absence would be a significant blow to the Packers’ offense, as he has been the focal point of their running game this season, racking up 648 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 carries. His presence is critical for alleviating pressure on a passing attack already hampered by injuries to key receivers and tight ends.
If Jacobs is unable to play, backup running back Emmanuel Wilson is expected to take the lead. Wilson showed promise last week, gaining 40 yards and scoring a touchdown after Jacobs’ departure.
Regardless of who leads the ground game, the Packers’ offense will need to perform at its best against a Vikings defense that allows just 317.5 yards per game, ranking 11th in the NFL.
The Packers (6-3-1) are looking to close the gap on the Chicago Bears in the NFC North standings, while the Vikings (4-6) are fighting to keep their playoff aspirations alive. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
