Tamil Nadu Boosts Startup Ecosystem with New iTNT Hub in Coimbatore
Coimbatore, India – November 22, 2025 – Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services Palanivel Thiaga Rajan today inaugurated the Tamil Nadu Technology (iTNT) Hub’s regional center in Coimbatore. Located at the Government College of Technology, this hub marks the first regional iTNT center in western Tamil Nadu and the third in the state, dedicated to fostering deep and emerging tech startups and researchers.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Rajan emphasized the government’s commitment to nurturing local innovation and addressing the challenges posed by increasing monopolistic control in the technology sector. He highlighted the need for startups, innovators, and MSMEs to solve community-level problems, especially in light of pressures on traditional employers to reduce headcount through AI adoption. The government aims to connect innovative ideas with the resources needed to transform them into functional products, providing access to labs, mentorship, and capital.
The event also saw the launch of the “Bosch Innovation Challenge,” a joint initiative by iTNT Hub and Bosch Global Software Technologies, seeking breakthrough ideas for a “Foundational Security Strategy for IoT Products.” Additionally, the “IP Nexus 2026,” organized in collaboration with Karpagam Innovation and Incubation Council, aims to connect Intellectual Property Rights holders with industry partners to drive commercialization and technology transfer.
Further solidifying the iTNT Hub’s presence, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged with PSG-STEP to establish a satellite office in Coimbatore. A co-incubation agreement was also finalized with Karpagam Innovation and Incubation Council, marking them as the Hub’s 27th co-incubation partner statewide.
iTNT Hub CEO Vanitha Venugopal stated that the regional hub will expand the reach of the iTNT Hub’s resources to a broader audience of researchers, startups, academia, industry professionals, and other stakeholders. In addition to providing co-working spaces and physical infrastructure, the hub will offer access to its comprehensive range of programs and initiatives, including technology transfer opportunities.
The iTNT Hub’s expansion signifies Tamil Nadu’s continued investment in its technology ecosystem and commitment to supporting the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
