Sun Nov 23 18:00:00 UTC 2025: Summary:

CBS is airing “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion” on Monday, November 24th, a 90-minute special featuring the surviving cast. While the show premiered 29 years and two months prior, Ray Romano and Phil Rosenthal attribute the timing to CBS’s newfound enthusiasm for a reunion. Rosenthal had been pushing for a reunion for a decade, but Amy Reisenbach, the new CBS president, finally greenlit the project. The reunion coincides roughly with the show’s 30th anniversary (counting Romano’s Letterman appearance and initial show development) and follows a successful mini-reunion between Romano and Brad Garrett at the Emmy Awards. The special will be hosted by Romano and Rosenthal and will honor the late cast members.

“Everybody Loves Raymond” Cast Reunites for 30th Anniversary Special on CBS

Los Angeles, CA – Fans of the beloved sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” are in for a treat as CBS prepares to air “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion” on Monday, November 24th, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET, also streaming on Paramount+. The 90-minute special reunites the surviving cast members for the first time, though its actual premier date was in 1996.

The reunion, hosted by Ray Romano and series creator Phil Rosenthal, features appearances by Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, and Sullivan Sweeten. The special will also pay tribute to late cast members Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle, and Sawyer Sweeten.

While the show premiered in September 1996, making the timing of the special slightly off, Romano and Rosenthal explain that CBS’s newfound interest drove the decision. “The reason I think they’re doing it now is because they wanted it now,” Rosenthal said. He had been trying to get a reunion special off the ground for years, but CBS’s previous leadership wasn’t interested.

“I’ve been trying to have a reunion special for 10 years, I was ready to do the 20th anniversary, I was ready to do the 25th anniversary, but there wasn’t an appetite for it at CBS. Amy [Reisenbach], who’s the new president, she was very into it, she’s absolutely lovely and great, and I’m happy to do it. I don’t care when it is. I just selfishly wanted to see my friends and celebrate our nice show.Earlier this year, the Paley Center in New York did an exhibit “30 Years of Everybody Loves Raymond: A Behind-the-Scenes Tribute,” which ran June-September. It gave Romano and Rosenthal an idea to try the reunion special again tied to the show’s 30th anniversary, initially in conjunction with the Paley celebration.”

Romano also noted that the show’s origins could be traced back 30 years to when he appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, a performance that ultimately led to the sitcom deal.

The reunion special comes on the heels of a well-received mini-reunion between Romano and Garrett at the Emmy Awards, where they presented the award for Outstanding Comedy Series. While Romano isn’t sure the success of that bit directly led to the reunion being greenlit, he acknowledged the positive feedback they received.

“It was great,” Romano said of the Emmy appearance. “I did get people telling me that they really liked the little bit we did.”

Fans can tune in on Monday, November 24th, to relive the laughs and memories of “Everybody Loves Raymond.”
