Sat Nov 22 05:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Stanford’s Okorie Looks to Continue Hot Streak Against Seattle U
STANFORD, CA – Freshman sensation Ebuka Okorie will lead the undefeated Stanford Cardinal (4-0) against the Seattle University Redhawks (3-1) at Maples Pavilion on Friday. Okorie, currently third in the nation in scoring with an average of 25.5 points per game, is coming off a 26-point performance in Stanford’s dominant 93-66 victory over Louisiana.
“That was probably his best floor game,” said Stanford head coach Kyle Smith, praising Okorie’s all-around development. “Obviously he scored, he seems to score all the time. But you’re starting to see the extra pass, starting to see the guys on a roll. … The better he gets, the better the next guy gets. It’s been fun to watch.”
Chisom Okpara contributed 22 points, and Cameron Grant added 15 in the win against Louisiana as the Cardinal look to conclude their five-game homestand undefeated.
Seattle U, led by Brayden Maldonado’s 23.3 points per game, is coming off an 83-74 win against Idaho State. Maldonado scored 22 points in that game, while Jojo Murphy added 14 off the bench.
“Brayden made some free throws down the stretch to get us the stops that we needed,” Redhawks coach Chris Victor said. “And Jojo played great. … Good to see Jojo come in and score some points.”
The Redhawks, who struggled on the road last season with a 4-11 record, face a tough test against a Cardinal team that boasted a strong 17-3 home record last year and is currently riding a five-game winning streak at Maples Pavilion to start the 2024-25 season.
