Pradeep Z. Shirke, a Travelling Ticket Examiner, found the boy traveling without a ticket in the general coach of the Mumbai LTT-Mangaluru Central Matsyagandha Express (Train No. 12619) on November 20th. Noticing that the boy was alone and in school uniform, Shirke spoke to him and learned he had run away from home.
