Tiruchi, India – November 22, 2025 – The Tiruchi Corporation, in partnership with Young Indians (Yi) and the Centre for Education Development Action and Research (CEDAR), has initiated a three-month photography training program designed for underprivileged schoolchildren. The program, launched today at the Corporation High School in Edamalaipattipudur, will provide 60 students with hands-on instruction from professional cinematographers.
The initiative aims to equip students from Corporation schools with valuable creative skills and potentially open up career avenues in the field of photography. Funding for the program is being provided by Yi and CEDAR. Instruction will be led by experienced cinematographers Karthik, Alasata Miranda, and assistant cinematographer Marikannan.

Madhubalan, Commissioner of Tiruchi Corporation. “This program builds upon a successful model we previously implemented in Thoothukudi and we are confident that it will have a lasting positive impact on these children’s lives.”

The training program, which will conclude in January, will be held at Corporation High School at Edamalaipattipudur and Corporation Middle School at Piratiyur.
