South Africa Rebuilds After Early Wicket in Second Test Against India

Guwahati, India – South Africa reached 156/2 at lunch on Day 1 of the second Test against India at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati today, after winning the toss and electing to bat.

India struck early in the second session when Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Ryan Rickelton (35), caught behind by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. However, South Africa recovered, with Tristan Stubbs and Captain Temba Bavuma forging a partnership to stabilize the innings. Stubbs was batting on 32 with Bavuma unbeaten on 36 at the end of the first session.

The series is part of South Africa’s tour of India in 2025.
