Fri Nov 21 06:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Las Vegas Sees Wettest November in Years, Formula One Race Could See Showers

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas is experiencing one of its wettest Novembers in recent memory, with rainfall totals already exceeding five times the average for the month. While a brief respite followed Wednesday’s thunderstorm, forecasters predict more rain is on the way, potentially impacting the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend.

Wednesday’s storm brought heavy rain, hail, and lightning to the central valley before weakening in the evening. However, the National Weather Service (NWS) says the dry spell will be short-lived.

“We’re mostly done,” said Matt Woods, a meteorologist with the Las Vegas NWS office, on Wednesday. “Storm activity and thunderstorms are quieting down, so I think we’ll be dry for the rest of tonight and most of the day tomorrow.”

A broader, more organized weather system is expected to arrive late Thursday, bringing widespread rain and showers through Friday morning. Rainfall totals are estimated between one-tenth and one-quarter inch, with some areas potentially receiving up to half an inch.

While race-night conditions for the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix are expected to be mostly dry, the NWS hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a stray shower on Saturday.

“There is some potential for light rain on Saturday,” Woods said. “Chances are low, around 10%, but it depends on where the system sets up and how far south it pulls.”

The recent rainfall has pushed Las Vegas to its fifth-wettest November on record, with 1.58 inches of precipitation recorded so far. The average November rainfall is only 0.3 inches. The wettest November ever recorded was in 1965, with 2.22 inches of rain.
