VIJAYAWADA – November 21, 2025 – The banned CPI (Maoist) group has issued a statement alleging that two recent encounters in the Maredumilli Agency area of Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district were fabricated by Andhra Pradesh police.

In a letter released on Friday by its official spokesperson Abhay, the Maoist party claims that Central Committee member Madvi Hidma, Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee secretary, along with his wife M. Raje, and other members, were captured by police in Vijayawada on November 15 and subsequently executed, with the deaths staged as encounters.

The letter specifically accuses the Special Investigation Branch (SIB) of apprehending Hidma, Raje, known as ‘Tech’ Shankar, and other Maoists while they were seeking medical treatment in Vijayawada. The CPI (Maoist) alleges that these individuals were taken into custody and later killed in cold blood.

Mr. Abhay has called for a “black day” to be observed on November 23 in protest against what the party describes as these “fake encounters.”
