Fri Nov 21 13:10:00 UTC 2025: Bangladesh A Edges India A in Thrilling Super Over Finish at Asia Cup Rising Stars

DOHA, QATAR – In a nail-biting first semi-final of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, Bangladesh A emerged victorious against India A after a Super Over decider. The match, held at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Friday, saw both teams locked at an identical score of 194/6 after their allotted 20 overs.

Bangladesh A will now face Sri Lanka A/Pakistan Shaheens in the final on Sunday, November 23rd.

The Super Over was full of drama. India A, surprisingly sending in Jitesh Sharma and Ramandeep Singh instead of the in-form Vaibhav Suryavanshi, crumbled under pressure. Ripon Mondol bowled Sharma with the first ball and Ashutosh Sharma was caught out on the next, leaving Bangladesh needing just one run to win. Suyash Sharma of India A took a wicket of Yasir Ali in the first ball in Bangladesh A’s batting and then bowled a wide delivery, handing the victory to Bangladesh A.

Earlier in the day, India A got off to a flying start in their chase, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi (38 off 15 balls) and Priyansh Arya (44 off 23 balls) putting on a quickfire 53-run partnership. Crucial contributions from Jitesh Sharma (33) and Nehal Wadhera (32 not out) helped India A level the scores, setting the stage for the dramatic Super Over. In the final ball, where India needed 4 runs to win, the batters took 3.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh A posted 194/6, led by Habibur Rahman Sohan’s 65 off 46 balls and a blistering unbeaten 48 off just 18 balls from SM Mehrob. Gurjapneet Singh was the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming two wickets.
