Man Attempts Suicide at Salem Police Station Over Bike Dispute
Salem, India – November 20, 2025 – A 27-year-old man identified as Raveendran attempted to take his own life at the Salem Police Commissioner’s office in Linemedu this morning. Police personnel on the scene quickly intervened and rushed Raveendran to the Salem Government Hospital.
Raveendran, a resident of Thanjavur district working in Tiruppur, reportedly pledged his motorbike to a man named Siva from Mecheri. Siva allegedly sold the bike to a third party. When Raveendran approached Siva to retrieve his bike, Siva demanded an additional ₹23,000 on top of the ₹17,000 already paid and allegedly assaulted Raveendran.
The Annathanapatti police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
